Biography: My name is Heidi Perdue, I am 35 years old. I’ve been married to my love for 13 years and we have 5 fun children. I live in Utah, the most beautiful state! I live right on Utah Lake and love it! I love to run in the mountains behind my home, then come ski, surf or SUP on the lake right out my front door. I have been a ballet teacher for 16 years. I get to teach my 2 daughters, and it’s a complete treat! I have been a Bikram yoga snob for the past 10 years, but the past 2 years branched out and have loved learning new things in my yoga practice. Learning to meditate has changed my life. I am also a craniosacral therapist and teach all my clients the importance of breathing.
Hometown: Saratoga Springs Utah
What does being a Glide Yogi mean to you? It makes me so excited to push myself to learn new things this next year. My youngest baby is going to be 4 next year, so that means it’s time for me to move forward with my family into the next phase of our life. I’m excited to learn and grow and eventually be able to help support my family doing more of what I love.
Top three songs in your yoga playlist? Alexi Murdoch “Something Beautiful”. Pacific Dub “Listen Up”. Ballyhoo! “Beautiful Day”
Favorite Pose(s) for SUP Yoga? Love a head stand. Hope to get a forearm stand mastered. Savasana (hehe)
Best advice for beginner SUP Yoga: Hold your center! I laugh when I say this because it’s what I tell my ballerinas all the time too!
Fave postpaddle eats? Corepower chocolate protein drink mixed with a banana, peanut butter, chia seeds, and a handful of greens. Yum.
Words to live by? “Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right.”
If you could meet any person dead or alive who would it be? This one is tricky…I really feel like the right people come into your life when you need it. I’m so thankful for the people who inspire me to be better and kinder every day. Mostly those are the 5 little humans I live with, my husband, my parents and siblings. If I had to choose, right now there is a yogi I follow on Instagram, Holly Fiske. She’s amazing and always has her tiny little ones walking around her while she’s doing her practice. I love how real she is! I always have a kid or two in my shadow. So cute and fun to be a mom and still have hobbies and goals. Don’t’ loose yourself once you become a momma. I love that. There aren’t any good teachers out here by me. So I would love to meet someone who could help me get better at some hand stands. She’s amazing.
