Bio:Always preferring an active lifestyle, Mary K. was initially drawn to yoga as just another alternative to breaking a sweat and getting in a great workout. What she didn’t expect to feel after that first class was a craving to explore and learn more about the ancient and beautiful bodywork that now provides the framework for a life she feels passionate and excited about living. With over 1,000 teaching hours, Mary K. brings to the mat experience in a laid-back and playful approach, wanting to make yoga fun and accessible for every type of body. She is a 200hr yoga teacher graduate from Yoga Well in San Diego and after relocating from California in 2011, she completed her prenatal teacher training (RPYT) at Charm City Yoga in Baltimore. In summer 2013, Mary K. crossed paths with Stoked Yogi in southern CA and hasn’t looked back since, spending almost every sunny day on the water showing others how to float their yoga practice. In 2014, Mary K. officially launched BeachBee Yoga & SUP in Maryland, offering locals an opportunity to grab a paddle and jump in the water for an experience they wouldn’t forget. BeachBee Yoga has now expanded into a fully operational yoga studio with a team of instructors leading daily classes in the Havre de Grace location and seasonal retreats up and down the east coast.

Hometown: I consider southern CA home but growing up in a Navy family, I spent most of my childhood moving all around the country. When I need to replenish and nourish my soul, I retreat to my parents beach bungalow on Coronado Island and as soon as those wheels hit the runway in San Diego, I literally breathe deeper and everything slows way down.
What does being a Glide Yogi mean to you?
Proudly representing a grass roots company dedicated to creating nearly indestructible paddle boards, as green as possible in the good old USA, for enthusiastic athletes all over the world. I’m so grateful for the community of Glide yogis! Their passion is contagious!

Best advice for beginner SUP Yoga:
Leave all your expectations on the shore and no grippy toes on the board! Relax and breathe.
Fave post-paddle eats?
Acai bowl loaded with banana and granola, iced-coffee, gallons of water. I could just as easily be talked into a margarita and table-side guac too!

Favorite Glide Paddle Board?
I LOVE the O2 Lotus board! It is by far my favorite inflatable paddle board I have ever owned. It is super stable, easy to travel with, and fun to paddle. I think it is the perfect inflatable yoga paddle board.
