Embarking on a Paddle Boarding Adventure with the Glide Retro

A day paddle boarding the original Retro.

The Retro hard paddle board is one of the best all-around sup boards around. The retro is able to handle flat water, fishing, yoga, river running, or catching ocean waves. The ultra-durable paddle board is the go-to board for beginner and advanced paddlers alike. Once you try the board you will see why.

 Introduction

On a day marked by clear skies and the promise of adventure, I found myself gravitating towards the Glide Retro, a stand-up inflatable paddle board known for its seamless blend of stability and performance. With plans to explore Pineview—a gem nestled about 8 miles from Ogden, boasting sandy shores and warm waters—my anticipation for a day filled with paddle boarding couldn't be higher. Whether it was the serene lake or the thrill of river SUP that called to me, I knew I was in for an unforgettable experience.

Pineview Reservoir

Pineview Reservoir, with its reputation as one of Utah's finest fishing spots for Tiger Muskie and its beginner-friendly waters, served as the perfect backdrop for both new and seasoned paddlers. As I launched the Retro into the welcoming embrace of the lake, the scene was set: seagulls danced over the waves, and the sun's reflection on the water created a spectacle of light.

The adventure continued as I aimed for the cove near Stingtown Road, seeking the excitement of navigating through wakes created by passing motorboats. The Retro's stability was put to the test as I rode the wakes with ease, embodying the spirit of play and freedom that paddle boarding offers.

The Cove

However, mindful of the bustling main channel's dangers, I sought refuge in the tranquility of a secluded cove. There, the simplicity of summer unfolded before me: a boat gently swaying at anchor, children laughing in the water, and the peaceful solitude of nature's embrace.

The Open Waters

The journey didn't stop there. The open waters beckoned, leading me to explore Windsurfer Beach, a haven for water enthusiasts of all kinds. Amidst paddle boarders, kayakers, and the joyful chaos of dogs splashing in the shallows, I found a moment of serenity. Sitting atop my board, I was reminded of the pure joy that comes from a day spent on the water, surrounded by the beauty of life in its simplest form.

As the day wound down, the journey back to reality was anything but mundane. The Retro's agility shone as I navigated through wakes, practiced pivot turns, and marveled at the board's unwavering stability. It's moments like these that reinforce the magic of paddle boarding—the blend of tranquility and excitement, all balanced on the surface of the water.
