Glide Retro Elite 10'6" SUP Kayak

425 Reviews

Allison B.

I had an Irocker for years, kept having to patch it up every season, multiple times per season. it drove me nuts and made me not want to paddle. I finally caved and got 2 Retros for me and my boyfriend after hearing how great Glide boards are from some friends. they feel a LOT better than my irocker when paddling, and the stitching and material feels heavyweight and made for heavy use. straightforward set up too. I also really appreciated Ken's help in helping me pick out a board that fits my needs. their customer service actually rocks!!!

Highlighted Features + Benefits

Cross-Woven Dropstitch Core

Most inflatable boards use knitted dropstitch and need very high PSI to feel rigid. The Retro’s woven core creates a stiffer, more stable feel at lower pressure, with less flex under your feet and better overall balance on the water.

Triple-Layer Reinforced Rails

The Retro combines a heat-welded inner rail with two reinforced outer glue bands for additional strength. This layered construction helps the seams better handle heat, pressure, and long-term use.

Rated to 25 PSI

The Retro feels rigid and stable at just 12–14 PSI, giving the board a large safety margin in hot weather as air pressure naturally expands. Many knitted boards operate much closer to their maximum pressure limits.

image

Lightweight Without Feeling Soft

At only 22 lbs, the Retro is easier to carry than many premium boards while still maintaining excellent rigidity and stability on the water.

Standard US Fin Box

The standard US fin box makes replacement and upgraded fins easy to find almost anywhere. No proprietary systems or hard-to-source parts down the road.

Kayak Conversion Included

Every Retro includes the Airthrone seat and kayak conversion paddle blade, so you can switch between standing and seated paddling right out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between the Retro Elite and the Wander 10'6?

The Retro Elite uses a premium cross-woven drop-stitch core and ThermoFuse triple-layer rails for superior stiffness and durability—closer to the feel of a hardboard. It also comes with a full-length deck pad, a wheeled backpack, and includes a kayak seat and dual-blade paddle. The Wander 10'6" has a woven core, dual-layer rails, and fewer accessories—great for value-focused paddlers.

Does the Retro Elite paddle board convert to a kayak?

Yes, and it comes ready to go. The Elite includes Glide’s AirThrone kayak seat and a dual-blade paddle attachment, so you can easily switch from standing to sitting and paddle comfortably in either position.

Is the Retro Elite good for yoga or fitness?

Absolutely. The full-length EVA deck pad gives you plenty of space and grip for yoga poses, stretching, or bodyweight workouts. It’s soft underfoot, pet-friendly, and perfect for anyone who wants more than just a casual paddle.

How stiff is the Retro Elite compared to a hardboard?

Thanks to its cross-woven drop-stitch core and ThermoFuse rails, the Retro Elite is one of the stiffest inflatable paddle boards on the market. It delivers hardboard-like performance with the convenience of an inflatable.

Why choose the Retro Elite over all the other paddle boards out there?

Because no other board offers this kind of performance, versatility, and value in one package. The Retro Elite rides like a hardboard thanks to its cross-woven drop-stitch core and ThermoFuse triple-layer rails, yet packs down like an inflatable. It comes fully loaded with a full-length deck pad, a wheeled travel bag, and a true kayak conversion kit—seat and dual-blade paddle included. Most brands charge extra for those features (if they offer them at all). With the Retro Elite, you’re not just getting a paddle board—you’re getting two ways to ride, premium construction, and unmatched value in one seriously fun setup.
